The Thousand Stars Foundation is offering various short courses on Tibetan, Mahayana Buddhism, and Asian Culture/Philosophy to the general public at the Foundation House, Ladprao 11. 
28 May – 28 June 2008 
Basic Tibetan I (ภาษาทิเบตพื้นฐาน I)
Instructors: Aj. Yontan (Meu Yontan Tongdrol) and Dr. Krisadawan Hongladarom
Affiliation: The Thousand Stars Foundation
Media of instruction: Tibetan and Thai
Time: 30 hours, three times a week: Wednesdays, Fridays 18.30-20.30 hrs. Sundays 16.00-18.00 hrs.
Registration fees: 4,500 baht (All the proceeds will be contributed to the Tara Great Stupa project).
This course emphasizes the relationship between language and culture and aims to equip the students with basic skills, namely speaking, listening, reading, writing including translating. We’ll read a basic prayer in Tibetan as well.
For those who are interested only in reading and translating Buddhist texts, we hope to offer such a course in the near future.

Basic Dance Workshop I: Sacred Newar Tantric Dance for Mindfulness and Inner Awakening 
(นาฏศิลป์ตันตระพื้นฐาน I: การร่ายรำเพื่อการตื่นรู้และเบิกบานภายใน)
Instructor: Aj. Tam (Thanapol Virulhakul)
Affiliation: Open Space
Medium of instruction: Thai (but non-Thais may contact the instructor for a possibility of special instruction in English)
Time: 20 hours, weekly Sundays 16.00-18.30 hrs. 
Registration fees: 3,500 baht

Tibetan Calligraphy (ศิลปะการเขียนด้วยภาษาทิเบต)
Instructor: Aj. Yontan
Both Thais and non-Thais are welcome. Students need not have background knowledge in Tibetan.
Time: 6 hours, Sunday 9.00-16.00 hrs. 
Registration fee: 700 baht

Instructor: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Soraj Hongladarom
Affiliation: The Thousand Stars Foundation and Chulalongkorn University
Medium of instruction: Thai
Time: 12 hours: weekend 9.00-16.00 hrs. (Lunch and breaks will be provided.)
Registration fees: 1,800 baht 
For all courses, hands-out, snacks and breaks will be provided.
