Auspicious Signs & Beautiful Memories

Impressions from Dakini training and full moon retreat, 6-8 June 2009

It has been some time since I conceived the idea of doing a dakini training. I didn’t know exactly what I should do in this training. I only had a message to tell people to go beyond fear and doubt, to trust their own capability, and to realize their unlimited potential. All these are encoded in the meaning of “dakini,” an old word derived from ancient wisdom world.

The Tibetan term for dakini is “khandroma” one who travels in the vast sky, who understands the true nature of conditions, who goes beyond limitation caused by self clinging. Dakini is thus a personnification of wisdom, leading to the understanding of nature and oneself.

There were 13 of us. We came from different professions, age groups and backgrounds. But we opened our heart to each other sharing our life experiences, aspirations, dreams and fears. We learned to integrate nature, sacredness and childhood with our life and appreciate the hidden radiant mind inside.

I have organized many activities and dharma teachings at Khadiravana. But dakini training brings a most special memory. It also ends well with auspicious rainbows.

8 June (the day after Saga Dawa/Tibetan Vesak), early morning: The first tiny rainbow appears over the mantra stupa of clear light.

8.30 am: Our practice and special time together ends with this unique rainbow – the second one of the day lasting only a few minutes, just in time for us to offer it as a mandala. It’s a reminder that all things are impermanent. Rigzin.1

5 pm: A full body rainbow – the third one of the day – rises over Khadiravana mountains with a tale touching the Stupa site

More stories and photos will be continued.

  1. it was a wonderful time over there to be our real self
among new good friends in a couple days.
i have gained many precious lessons to realize me
to live freely, not try to set any limitation in our mind.
And that lead us to feel relaxing in every moment of life.

Many thanks to everyone to help making it happened.
