A Public Lecture by Geshe Latri Nyima Dakpa

Thursday, October 1, 2009 7 – 9 pm

In this lecture, Nyima Dakpa Rinpoche, one of the most respected new generation of Tibetan masters, will talk about meditation and training the mind. The mind plays a very important role in our lives. It is the source of perception and understanding of the world. Furthermore, it is also the source of both suffering and happiness. Thus controlling the mind means controlling everything. Nyima Dakpa Ripoche will talk about basic, preliminary practices that lead to and mind training. He will also talk about the nature of the mind itself, and its relation to formation of and attachment to the ego, which is the ultimate source of suffering. These preliminary practices are stepping stones to the practice of Great Perfection, or Dzogchen. The audience will also practice meditation together with Rinpoche according to the Dzogchen tradition.
The lecture will be in English with Thai translation.
